There will be an option for exploring creativity through mindful writing (or sketching). If you wish to try this, please plan to bring your favorite notebook and writing or sketching instruments.

After the vibrancy and liveliness of spring with its brilliant colors and fickle weather, nature begins to slow down and settle into a time of growth. Flowers give way to ripening fruits, and the first young birds, bats, and fawns will soon be born. Trees begin their steady and unceasing growth, filling out their crowns and adding this year’s growth ring to the base of their trunk. It is a time of shedding, planting, settling down, and settling in.

The ebbing from spring into summer brings many opportunities for reflection, discovery, and learning. Nature teaches us about clinging, with abundance, growth, and nourishment readily available and all around us. And nature gives us opportunities to explore how our longings can lead us toward restlessness and struggle and separate us from contentment and satisfaction.

Join us in exploring the early summer lessons and gifts nature has to offer as we practice mindfulness and mindful engagement of the natural world.
