The next Mindfulness in Nature Meetup group, which meets near Austin, Texas, is rapidly approaching. The next group will be held on September 9, 2017. Details can be found on the Meetup page.
From the Meetup Group….
As we all continue to witness the situation with Hurricane Harvey as it unfolds, many of us are feeling sadness, worry, and upset about family and friends, as well as all of the people, communities, plants and animals (domesticated and wild), and ecosystems affected by flooding, damage, and loss of life.
This special group will focus on offering a safe and nurturing time for helping all of us process what we’ve been experiencing. It’s an opportunity to not be alone with what you have been going through and find some healing and solace in nature and in our small mindfulness in nature community.
If the trails are open (they are currently being cleaned up), we will walk to our lovely “circle in the pines” spot, as we have done the last couple of groups. If the trails are still be cleaned and cared for, then we will spend our time in the peaceful native plant garden next to the Visitor’s Center. Either way, we will do our usual sit spot practice, with an option of creating a nature mandala to help us have a chance to express some what we have been feeling and experiencing.
